Conferencia Japan’s Strategy on the Free Trade Agreement
 
El Dr. Takemasa Sekine, experto en derecho económico internacional y profesor de la Graduate School of Management de la Nagoya University of Commerce & Business (NUCB), proporcionará en esta conferencia un conjunto de ideas clave sobre el futuro de las relaciones comerciales internacionales a través del análisis comparativo del Acuerdo de Asociación Económica UE-Japón (EPA) y del Acuerdo Comercial entre EE.UU. y Japón. Como en la actualidad este último acuerdo se centra en la reducción arancelaria y el comercio digital, la charla analizará en paralelo el Acuerdo Transpacífico de Cooperación Económica (TPP), para reflexionar sobre las intenciones de EE.UU y de Japón. En la charla, el Dr. Sekine explorará si la UE y los EE.UU., en un momento en el que las tensiones comerciales bilaterales están aumentando, pueden converger para crear un nuevo marco comercial que promueva un proceso de reforma en la OMC y las posibles contribuciones a este propósito de Japón que se encuentra en una posición única al haber cerrado acuerdos con ambos.

Perfil

El Dr. Takemasa SEKINE es profesor en la NUCB Business School.
Estudió derecho en la Universidad de Keio, Japón (Ph.D. y LL.M) y más tarde fue contratado como investigador postdoctoral en la Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Actualmente es miembro de la Junta de Revisión de Adquisiciones Gubernamentales en Japón, y también participa en proyectos de investigación organizados por instituciones gubernamentales japonesas, como el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Japón y el Instituto de Investigación de Economía, Comercio e Industria (RIETI).
